Friedrich Schiller Monument
The first monument dedicated to Friedrich Schiller. Whereas it's so small and not well known, you can't find much information from Internet about it. It was established in 1813 and is probably the first monument in the world dedicated to Schiller. (There was another one established in 1805 (also in Estonia) but it was destroyed soon after.) So ours is the oldest one.
On the monument you can see two written sides. One of them says: "Dedicated to the memory of Friedrich von Schiller, the noble German poet and favorite of muses in 1813". And on the other side: "Poetry extends to you its divine rights, ascending with you to eternal stars. He has surrounded you with glory. Your creation speaks to your heart. You will be immortal."
